Car Sales Story
Description
I challenged myself the other day and said I could buy a car off the service drive in fifteen minutes. Everyone around me thought I was crazy. But to me, it’s always been a contact sport. You stay alert, you read the room, and you move with intention.
I’ve done this before. Back at Hyundai Port Richey, Dave Frazier gave me an hour to make a deal. I told him it wouldn’t take that long. I knew it could happen in ten minutes, even if no one believed it.
While I was scanning the service lane, a customer pulled up in a taxi. Out of pure habit, I greeted him and asked if he was there for service or picking someone up. Turns out he was there for an oil change.
Moments like that remind me how simple the job can be when you stay present, pay attention, and lean into the opportunity right in front of you. The service drive is full of wins if you’re willing to step up and make the first move.
